Are You a Face? Do You Know A Face?
On January 26th, 2013, at City Hall in Takoma Park, we're going to have a party for all the original faces that are collected here. Unfortunately, I don't know where a lot of the subjects are--or even who they are--so, if you're included, please show up. It will be from 3:30 to 5:30. We'll give you a name tag and bag of popcorn. Yes. It's done. All one-hundred. And they're up and doing just fine.
Only one last thing remains to be done: The Party.
On January 26th, 2013, at the Sam Abbott Citizen's Center, 7600 Maple Avenue, Takoma Park, I would like to thank one and all for sitting still long enough to allow me to paint these remarkable faces.
If you know someone whose face is up, let them know. If you're a face, please come. If you aren't, come anyway.
It's scheduled from 3:30 to 5:30. I promise to feed you. And there should be music as well. Carollyn James

Video Comments About the Project
Phil Shapiro of Takoma Park has created a video of people's comments who have seen the project. Check it out. He says some very lovely things. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHxJf7GF5Kk

I don't know how to link to other blogs or other sites, but the Montgomery County Gazette has a good piece on the project in the August 17, 2011 edition.

Exhibit Moves
In a week or so, the portraits will move from the atrium in the Takoma Park City Hall to the breezeway. The City has kindly enough given the portraits a space to grow. I will be installing new portraits during the winter and spring as they are finished. Like they say on those construction sites around the city, "Watch us grow." Since this new location faces the street and watches it through a wall of windows, it is open 24/7. Come on down. Carollyn
